Areas of Emphasis in Partnership with Communication Studies
The courses in Communication Studies are beneficial to students of all majors since they focus on developing the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a rapidly changing world with changing demographics. Students learn to improve their abilities to solve problems, conduct research and analyze issues, as well as work effectively with others, either individually or in groups. Courses include studies of other cultures and courses on personal issues. Some courses include an Experiential Learning Program (EXL) component, and there is an option for an internship providing real-world experiences and professional networking. If this field of study interests you, discuss these areas of emphasis with your advisor and also consider a minor in Communication Studies.
If you would like to talk to someone in Communication Studies, you can contact Dr. Seward at: Linda.Seward@mtsu.edu or call: 615-995-6806.
